Margarita Pérez Sánchez, a native of Chanjalé Salchiji in the Sierra Madre de Chiapas, Mexico, is a coffee farmer who works with her husband and children on a two-hectare plot of land. Despite the difficulties of access and isolation, they manage to produce high quality coffee thanks to the rich volcanic soils and geographical conditions at more than 1,500 meters above sea level. The town of Salchiji, located in the Soconusco region, is known for its spectacular landscapes and its community of farmers, who face challenges in marketing their products due to their remoteness from urban centers, although they produce coffee with exceptional characteristics in aroma, acidity and body.
